Karla Massia

How long have you been in the Chorus?
I joined the chorus in 1982, although I missed a few seasons while I was in graduate school.
Occupation?
Acquisitions Librarian at Univ.Central MO in Warrensburg.
What schools are you an alumni from?
1981 - Truman State Univ - BA Music Business 
1998 - Mo. Western - BS Music Education
2003 - Univ. of Central MO - MA Music Composition/Theory 
2007 - Univ. of Missouri, Columbia - MA Library Science
How many times have you moved?
18 times, but all in the west-central Missouri area.
What is your favorite sport to watch?
Royals baseball, of course, but I also like to watch figure skating.
If you could go anywhere on vacation, anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Alaska.  Perhaps via a cruise ship from Seattle. Mainly for the scenic views, and it sounds relaxing.
What do you like to have for breakfast? 
Eggs, any style, with sauteed veggies 
What is your favorite Kansas City BBQ?
I used to get BBQ ribs from a meat market in DeSoto, KS that were the best.  My current favorite is Bandana BBQ in Sedalia, MO. 
What is the best concert you have ever been to?
Brahm's Requiem, Chicago Symphony Chorus (late 1990s).  I saw Frank Sinatra at Caesar's Palace in Vegas, 1981.  He was pretty good, too.  
Are you right-handed or left-handed?
Right handed.
